When it comes to taking care of her family, Adriana has it down.  When it comes to being a supportive wife or a loving mother, Adriana has it all taken care of.  This mother of one is becoming a mother of 3 and I know she will find a way to still have it all taken care of.  She is amazing.  I wonder all the time how she does it.  I mean who can look this great pregnant with twins?  WHO!?!  She is has it all in control and still looks this HOT, I mean really ;) ?! I’m so excited for the new blessings in their lives and grateful I get to see this family grow.   Thank you Adriana for continuing to allow me to capture your beautiful family, I am beyond thrilled about what is in store for all of you with this blessing of twins.  xoxo!

Happy Valentine’s Day ;) What better way to show love on my blog today than with a beautiful family that I LOVE dearly.  You know when you see someone and your heart melts, you feel like you could never, ever say no or let this person down…  I feel this way about each of my nephews and nieces.  I never felt love like this until my sister’s started to have kids and when I fell in love with Ivan’s nieces and nephews.  I am so completely smitten by these kids that I would do anything, absolutely anything for them.  To me they are love and watching them grow up has been one of the biggest joys in my life.  I guess I will say the same when I have my own kids, but this is all I know right now and I enjoy it so much.   They amaze me every time I have a conversation with them, they make me laugh and when they hurt I hurt.  They truly are blessings in my life.  Not too long ago I had the honor of shooting my sister’s family, which includes my amazingly cute nephews.  Adriana and Robert have built a beautiful family. I’m not even sure if they know it, but they are a perfect example of true love.  They got married young, yet gave each other the time to grown up because they had kids six years after, which I think has built this incredibly solid foundation to their relationship.  Being around all of them almost makes you think they have the perfect family, of course they are not perfect, but they have the love and strength every family and marriage needs.  I feel lucky to be these boy’s Tia ;) .  These pictures don’t lie this is them as a family and they are TRUE LOVE…

Towards the end of last year I met Ala from Love Ala Photography.  We did a photo session with her for our anniversary.  I’m thankful for this shoot for two reasons. One, the pictures really reflects “Us” right now at this point in our lives and I love them!  And two, it lead me to second shoot with her.  I was nervous to tell her I was interested in photography but I did (thank God) and she was super sweet about it.  I still remember her words, “I’m a helper not a hater.”  With a comment like that I knew we would get along.  I mean, c’mon I love helpers ;)  Well to my surprise she contacted me weeks later to see if I wanted to second shoot with her.  I was beyond excited! As a person who really wants to learn this business and shoot weddings, second shooting with her was a blessing.  There are some valuable learning experiences from second shooting and since I started back in July it has been nothing but better each time I do it. Being a second shooter allows you to watch, observe and shows you just what being a wedding photographer really means. This also allows you to really understand what a photographer needs on the wedding day and you can’t know that if you don’t get experience helping a main photographer first. Even if it means running around to find brother XYZ for family pictures so that pictures move along because of the little time you have to actually shoot them.  I think the most valuable lesson I have learned is how important it is to relay to your couples the time needed for pictures.  As a bride I can tell you I KNEW I wanted amazing pictures of Ivan and I but I never thought of the time I needed to set aside in the day for them.  Thank goodness I hired a professional who made sure I took the time for that.  I got to shoot not one, but two weddings with Ala and I’m grateful.  This wedding below I shot with her back in December and I smile very time I see the images.  This couple made plenty of time for their pictures, which is why they ended up with such beautiful shots.  What also warms my heart about these images is that this couple was beyond in love and it showed.  It was such a sweet wedding at Inn at the Seventh Ray.  Each wedding is so different because each couple is unique, there is always something fun and memorable I take home with me.  Here are a couple of my favorite images of the special day…

Confession: I’m obsessed with blogs. I prefer to read them to most things.  I guess it is not a huge confession or a big surprise, since I am a people person.  What I love most about them is the fact that these people share whatever quality they have been blessed with, with the rest of the world.

Here is a few blogs from my daily dose (in no particular order) from people I have never even met, but am inspired by their posts…

For spiritual reading and staying positive no matter what comes my way, I am all about The Daily Love!  I recommend this blog so much you would think Mastin (the writer) secretly hired me to be his #1 cheerleader.  If there was ever a blog that serves others this is IT.

For photography, I visit quite a few, but I will spare you and narrow it down.  Photographers know how to tell a story, which is why they become photographers in the first place. When they share their story on their blog about their own life as they encounter other people’s lives, I am inspired. I will start with Ms. Jasmine Star, I cannot help but to love how she inspires people regardless of what it may be.  She is a wedding photographer, but on this blog she shares so much more and is helpful.  She takes what she is good at and shares it with people.  She makes you laugh, cry, think and want to help others.  She is that girl you just want to sit down with for a cup of coffee.  I relate to Jasmine a lot too; maybe this is why I enjoy reading her blog.  I don’t know maybe I’m a stalker.  Ay Dios!  Do I sound like a stalker… well I’m not the only one, there is like another 50K photographers reading her blog daily too ;) so there! NOT a stalker!

Another photographer I love to follow because she is also helpful is Katelyn James (I think I found her through Jasmine).  She has created a great brand and you remember her for it. She teaches and inspires by her posts.  I am thankful to have come across her blog.  Plus, she just got the cutest puppy ever!

Another favorite is Love Ala, she is awesome and super talented.  I feel she is the definition of pretty :) her pictures, her words, her blog, her life.  It is like she just lives in pretty land. I love that. I want to live in all things pretty too LOL!  I am truly inspired by her work and kind heart.  Who knew I would one day shoot with her (more on that later), I’m super thankful for those opportunities.

Next, a fashion and photography blog in one! Could it get better than that?! I adore looking at fashion, the clothes and the poses. I think I follow the best person for this, I may be bias because I found Jamie on my own through Twitter, but really she is so chic and lives an amazing life.  I have never seen another blog like this. Check her out and thank me later…  http://fromme-toyou.tumblr.com/

My obsession with food (not cooking, just eating) has led me to the next two blogs.  First,  The Bitten Word .  They cook amazingly good-looking food (I have never tried their cooking… maybe one day).  I enjoy reading about their adventures and love for cooking.  We all have something and they are darn good at what they do.

The next food blog is a bit more than just food, actually a lot more!  This woman Ree Drummond, also known as The Pioneer Woman went from having it all as a city girl to having it all and more as a country girl! This is really a must read. I want to be her when I grow up. HA!

My obsession for Shabby Chic of course is met by the one and only Rachel Ashell, I love every picture on that blog and her stories of creating things and designing these rooms from London to Santa Monica… one day, oh one day, I will walk into her store and afford to buy a beautiful piece ;)

Then there is In the Name of Love. Bianca touched my life a bit more than she will ever know.  Her faith alone is inspiring.  She is open about her emotions and her love for God. I am extremely thankful for her post and her constant reminder that God loves us.   I adore her for being so relatable and honest.  I found Bianca through Jasmine Star… of course I did, right ;) HA!  They are twin sisters.  I might need to send Jasmine a BIG thank you card for sending such incredible people to my life including herself. Ay, OK, I will leave her alone.  Maybe I can just pay it forward by sending you, who is reading this (I swear people read my blog) someone who you can relate to and be inspired by.

I did not do these blogs and the people behind them justice in this post, so please let this be a stepping stone for you to find these amazing people and maybe add one of them to your Google Reader for your daily dose ;)

One of the best things I have ever learned in this life is to live INSPIRED.  I truly try to do it everyday. I’m thankful for what photography has brought to my life.

Feliz Tuesday!

I don’t talk much about my work life on this blog.  This blog was created to document my passion for photography, but the more i think about it in a sense it is about my life and sometimes these two worlds collide… in a good way ;)  Although they are two separate worlds they are both a part of me and I live both every single day. Being a photographer is my life now, I guess in a way it has become a part of everything.  So when I travel for work I do what any photographer would do, take my camera ;) .   I get to travel to these amazing cities for these awesome sports events.  I’m extremely lucky and  grateful for all of it, I work my butt off because I enjoy it so much.   A little over 2 years ago photography came into my life as I already had this career going and I fell in love with it.  I fell hard.  I can’t imagine my life without photography anymore.  I always wonder now what it was I did before to feel this connected with people and this alive when shooting.  My husband may be jealous of it at this point, because I spend so much of my off time reading, learning and shooting now-a-days.  No worries Ivan, you and Roxy are still my number ones :)!   Anyway, because of  my traveling I am behind on blogging.  Finally I got a moment last night to go through a few of my pictures from my trip to San Francisco.  I adore this city, wish I had more time to snap photos, but I got a few to share (I’m not even going to get in to how the 49ers broke my heart that Sunday)…
